Tina Wong, chief barista for Island RootsFrom clothing to coffee, Island Roots is creating quite a stir amongst resident workers and visitors alike at Nanny Cay. Conveniently located in the heart of the marina, Nanny Cay’s newest store (opened February 2009) carries a wide range of Dorfman Pacific hats, Skechers sandals, ladies swimwear by Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Anne Klein, Athena and La Blanca, quick dry sailing clothing, a wide variety of t-shirts and baseball caps and Nanny Cay-branded clothing.
True to the origins of the store name, Jamaican-born owner Tina Wong, has dedicated a section of the shop floor to showcase the work of local and resident artists and other tasteful pieces with Caribbean island roots.
Did we mention the coffee? Specialty coffees from espressos to lattes to cappuccinos are meticulously brewed and served by staff trained to deliver a perfect cup every time. The coffee’s so good it has received accolades from two of the world’s largest nations of coffee aficionados: the Dutch and the Italians!
Tina previously ran the successful clothing and resort convenience stores at Long Bay Resort, Tortola.
