Twenty-three Oyster yachts are in the British Virgin Islands for Oyster’s 24th regatta, the fourth to be held in the BVI. Today (Monday, 12 April) sees the fleet berthed at Nanny Cay Marina for the traditional skippers briefing and judging of the Concours d’Elegance. This evening Nanny Cay hosts a cocktail party and dinner co-sponsored by the BVI Tourist Board.
Tomorrow sees the fleet race to Cane Garden Bay from Nanny Cay. In the evening crews will go ashore for a pirate party and treasure hunt before enjoying a buffet supper at Myetts Garden Inn.
On Wednesday the Oyster fleet will race to Virgin Gorda before heading to the Bitter End Yacht Club, where they will make a stunning sight berthed around the dock. That evening Bitter End hosts a barbecue and Jump Up.
Thursday’s lay day at Bitter End gives everyone an opportunity to relax or join in the Oyster Dinghy Regatta – always popular with Oyster crews.
On Friday, the third race of the event, takes the fleet to a finish off Peter Island, where they will dock overnight and enjoy the hospitality of the Peter Island Resort for supper and dancing.
On Saturday the Oyster fleet will set out on Race 4, returning to dock at Nanny Cay Marina ready for the prize giving party and dinner.
