Our wide-body 70-tonne Travelift, capable of lifting and moving catamarans up to 32′ beam and 70 tons in weight, underwent a major overhaul in February.
Growing Offshore Multihull Fleet Finds Its Pace at BVI Spring Regatta
With just a few weeks to go before the 48th annual BVI Sailing Festival and Spring Regatta, the entry list is now at 80 boats, with an anticipated final count of at least 90.
The Offshore Multihull fleet has steadily grown in the BVI Spring Regatta and this year, John and Carol Gallagher are looking forward to competing in their Gunboat 62 Chim Chim.
Virgin Islands Sloop Foundation Launches At Nanny Cay
The newly formed Virgin Islands Sloop Foundation (VISF) was launched last night at a Beach BBQ here at Nanny Cay. Memberships were sold with Geoff Brooks, author of Building A Virgin Islands Sloop, signing copies of his book. Janet Oliver of the BVI Charter Society was the first member to sign up!
The Virgin Islands Sloop Foundation’s aim is to preserve the maritime heritage of the Virgin Islands by ensuring that the history and knowledge of traditional wooden boat building is passed on to future generations.
