It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the sudden death of friend and colleague, Gary Roy. He will be sadly missed by all of us and we would like to offer our sincere and deep condolences to his family.

Gary, as manager of Peg Legs Restaurant, was a popular, hard-working, and integral part of the Nanny Cay hospitality team.

“He was unflappable,” said Miles Sutherland-Pilch, general manager of Nanny Cay. “The crazier it got in the restaurant, the calmer he became. He thrived on the bedlam of running a restaurant. He was a natural.”

gary-royA resident of the BVI for over 25 years, all spent in the restaurant industry, Gary was well-known to many residents and visitors having worked at Pusser’s Landing, Jolly Roger, Myett’s, and Foxy’s Taboo as well as Peg Legs.

We became increasingly concerned after he missed a meeting and we were unable to contact him after repeated attempts. A visit to his home confirmed our worries, and we notified the Police.

We have been in contact with his family and they are flying to the BVI to deal with the necessary arrangements.

We will announce details of any service as soon as we can.
