RBVYC Optis on Nanny Cay beach – click to enlargeThe Royal BVI Yacht Club has moved its Youth Sailing programme to the beach at Nanny Cay and we’re very pleased to have them here.
“Fundamental to the renewed programme this year was reaching agreement with Nanny Cay and making their facility our new home,” said Richard Wooldridge. “The beach will provide a safe and exciting area for the kids and parents alike. Nanny Cay will also create more space for the storing of the Optimists and Lasers.”
The programme is now in a new format and will run on Saturday mornings only, from 9.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The aim is to encourage more beginners and new-starters to join, whilst also providing development for intermediate and advanced sailors.
The Yacht Club is also seeking volunteers to help out on Saturday mornings and hopes to set up a rota system to avoid over-burdening the volunteers.
As an introductory offer, the RBVIYC will charge $20 per yacht club member (family or cadet) and $30 for non-members, per session.
