May 7th start for 36 yachts to enjoy fun and safe ocean cruising
ARC Europe is based on the format of the ARC and enables yachts to cruise west to east to Europe at the end of the Caribbean season as part of a fun rally. There are two starting points on the same date – here at Nanny Cay Marina where ARC Europe will be starting for the first time and St. Augustine in Florida.
It was 21 years ago that the concept of ARC Europe first came to fruition when the inaugural event, then named ‘TransARC’, set off in 1988. In 2000 the rally was re-named ‘ARC Europe’ to better reflect its association with the world-famous ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers).Read More

For those of us who love to sail the sea is a sanctuary. It is our place of adventure, our home away from home and our playpen. But two comprehensive studies — by the 2003 Pew Oceans Commission and the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy — have made it dramatically apparent that our beloved ocean is severely threatened. With that in mind, the 2009 BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival has joined forces with Sailors for the Sea to reduce the pollution generated by the regatta and to promote ocean awareness to others. March 30 – April 5, 2009, the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival with Nanny Cay’s support as presenting sponsor will be going “clean and green”.Read More
Every year, well before registration closes for the BVI Spring Regatta, people ask, “How many boats are registered?” and every year, organizers reply something to the effect that the final registration numbers are hard to predict. This year is no different, but with the economy being in the toilet and the event looming only seven weeks away, the question seems more relevant than ever. The numbers for the 2009 BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival, March 30 – April 5, look healthy and regatta organizers have reason to believe that although 2009 will not be a record breaker, it will be a good year.Read More
