Dark & Stormy Anegada Regatta to finish at Nanny Cay

Registration for this ‘fungatta’ will take place on Friday (March 8) at 6 o’clock at De Loose Mongoose in Trellis Bay, followed by a BBQ and live music. The following morning, the skippers meeting will take place at 9 o’clock accompanied by a Mongoose breakfast.  Two starts will take place at 10:30 and 10:35 for the rally up to Anegada Reef Hotel, and racing will be followed by a welcome party at Anegada Reef Hotel.

The ubiquitous Sunday Play Day follows filled with activities like horseshoes, sand sculptures, kite flying and a lionfish catching contest, with awards later that afternoon. Alternatively, have more of a Lay Day said WEYC commodore Martin van Houten: “You can just relax, go to the north side beaches or just lay in the hammock. Sunday night, you guessed it, more great food, dancing and partying!”

On Monday, the skippers meeting for the downwind run back to Nanny Cay will be held at 9 o’clock. The first start will be at 10 o’clock ad the prize giving will be held at the Beach Bar followed by food, music and dancing. The ceremony will be accompanied with awards for the Gosling’s Race Series, as this regatta is the culmination of the six races. Awards for the series will go to the top five entrants.
