In July last year, construction started on a new outer marina at Nanny Cay.

Here’s the progress date: The revetment is 90% complete, while dredging and construction of the 6.5-acre peninsula – which is a combination of dredged material and land we have literally moved from one side to the other – is 75% complete. Sheet piling to form the inner wall of the marina has started, and construction of the main access bridge is underway.

The new outer marina will almost double Nanny Cay’s dock facilities by adding 120 slips. It will be suitable for yachts from 30-75 feet with T-heads and a bulkhead capable of berthing megayachts up to 160 feet in length.

The peninsula will be home to a residential community with 8 luxury condominium buildings overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Channel. In addition to the marina facilities and condos, the expansion will include: new and enhanced walk ways and recreational areas; a new restaurant, wellness center, gym, and social areas; an improved youth sailing center and facilities; improved resort areas and event facilities; new commercial retail and service space.

Construction of the peninsula and the first set of docks should be completed by November 2016.
