BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Arrival protocols
BVI Customs and Immigration require all vessels to register and submit arrival notifications through SailClear.
All vessels must also clear in at an approved BVI port of entry before proceeding to Nanny Cay Marina.
Every person entering the BVI must complete the British Virgin Islands Customs and Immigration portal up to 72 hours before your arrival. Just before arriving at Nanny Cay Marina, please contact the Dockmaster on VHF Channel 16 or 68 so our team can be ready to assist with your lines and give you your slip allocation. The Marina Office is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., 365 days a year.
Temporary entrance to Nanny Cay
The new entrance to Nanny Cay will be almost at a 90° angle to the old entrance, running parallel to the Tortola shore. This requires limited dredging to create the new channel.
While the dredging work takes place, a new navigation channel into the marina is an operation.

RYA Powerboat Courses Available in Nanny Cay
Nanny Cay has recently become home to Sailon BVI, the only provider of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses in the BVI. Previously located in Manuel Reef, Nanny Cay’s provision of dock, shoreside, and training facilities enabled Sailon BVI to retain its status as a “RYA Recognised Centre” and continue to provide world-class RYA training in a leading Caribbean marina.
Nanny Cay adds AIS Receiving Station
There was a gap and we filled it. Nanny Cay is now an AIS receiving station and our receiver has a range of approximately 12.1 nautical miles.
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is intended to help ships avoid collisions, as well as assisting port authorities to better control sea traffic. AIS transponders on board vessels include a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver, which collects position and movement details.
