Nanny Cay and Sol team up to benefit RBVIYC Junior Sailing Programme
Nanny Cay has teamed up with Sol Petroleum a pilot scheme to raise funds for the Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club (RBVIYC) Junior Sailing Programme. The collaboration between the two businesses, which is retroactive from January 1, 2011, facilitates the collection of a donation from every gallon of fuel sold at the marina. The monies will be paid over to the RBVIYC each month and will be used to advance the development of the programme for the young sailors of the territory.
Guy Phoenix, captain of sailing at the RBVIYC, approached Sol and Nanny Cay Resort and Marina to solicit support for the programme. The companies agreed to benefit the not-for-profit organization by a synergic approach based on their existing relationship as supplier/distributor. The RBVIYC is in the process of expanding the scheme to include other marinas offering Sol fuels.
SY Aiyana at the BVI Spring Regatta
Visitors to this year’s 40th Anniversary BVI Spring Regatta (and Nanny Cay’s docks) will be able to marvel at a brand new superyacht that will be competing in the Spinnaker racing fleet. Launched in 2010, Yacht Aiyana is spending its first season in the Caribbean before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer months and will be docked at Nanny Cay Marina for the duration of the regatta. Aiyana will be hard to miss with its 82 foot blue hull and very sleek low profile lines, which give it a very smooth look and style. Designed in New Zealand by the renowned firm Warwick Yacht Design and built by Alia Yachts in Turkey, Aiyana reflects the latest advances in yacht design, technology and interior luxury.
