The inaugural BVI WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL will take place at Nanny Cay and Scrub Island Resort November 1-3. The BVI Wine & Food Festival is an international event that will showcase the talents of renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities. For three days, visitors and residents alike will be able to sample, learn, feast or lounge through the event’s menu of a la carte events.
Nanny Cay will be home of the Grand Tasting Village (GTV) on Friday and Saturday, a relaxed open air culinary experience where the culinary team, wine makers, distillers, restaurants and farmers will provide guests with demonstrations and samples of their creations. The GTV is the centre of activity for the BVIWFF where a general admission fee of $45 will allow persons to taste wines available from outlets in the BVI and sample delights from some of the territory’s best restaurants.
Scrub Island Resort will host the formal Wine Dinner Series which features the dishes of the visiting chefs, each of whom will personally oversee the preparation of his or her selected course. (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
On the final day of the festival, a farewell brunch and pool party will be hosted at Scrub Island Resort.
International chefs Cesare Casella, François Payard and Jennifer Carroll will be joined by BVI’s own Chef Travis Philips of The Dove Restaurant along with BVI Culinary Team gold medalist Chef/Owner Imran Ashton of Plumrose Restaurant. This exciting culinary weekend is hosted by Chef Davide Pugliese of Scrub Island Resort.
Chef Cesare Casella is Chef/Owner of Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto in New York City. Chef Casella is also Dean of Italian Studies at the International Culinary Center in New York City, and whose new cookbook “Fundamentals of Italian Cuisine”, was recently nominated for a James Beard Award.
