A Duff Win In 2017 BVI Dinghy Championships
The 2017 BVI Dinghy Champions were crowned this weekend with 53 boats racing across four fleets. Hosted at Nanny Cay, visitors were welcomed from Antigua, St Croix, St Thomas and Puerto Rico and treated to two days of spectacular BVI sailing.
2017 BVI Dinghy Champs Coming Up; last event in VIODA Triple Crown
The 2017 BVI Dinghy Championships will take place on 20-21 May at Nanny Cay. With over 50 entries from five countries expected, it is shaping to be a great weekend.
The Nanny Cay beach will be a hive of activity from Friday afternoon as sailors arrive to set up their boats and get out on the water for a practice sail.
Sailors from Antigua, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, St Croix and St Thomas are expected to join the BVI team on the water. and will also be crowning the winner of the 2017 VIODA Triple Crown so read on to find out who to look out for.
A Successful Inaugural Mahi Mayhem Tournament
Captain Alvin, and his crew aboard Emmanuel from St Thomas, swept the board at the first annual Mahi Mayhem fishing tournament this weekend, taking $9,500 in prize money. They scooped the $5,000 top prize for heaviest mahi at 33 pounds, $2,500 for second heaviest mahi, $1,000 for heaviest overall catch, and $1,000 for heaviest mahi with an outboard engine.
