Movember in the BVI
Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health and in particular Prostate Cancer. Prostate Cancer is the second largest killer cancer of males after lung cancer, despite having a 90% success rate of being treated successfully when diagnosed.
Movember BVI is now well underway and all monies raised go towards Prostate screening and men’s health issues in the BVI.

“Fundamental to the renewed programme this year was reaching agreement with Nanny Cay and making their facility our new home,” said Richard Wooldridge. “The beach will provide a safe and exciting area for the kids and parents alike. Nanny Cay will also create more space for the storing of the Optimists and Lasers.”

Nanny Cay Marina and the Kids And The Sea (KATS) Swim
Program are joining forces for 2005 and 2006. Nanny Cay has signed on
as the official sponsor of the program dedicated to teaching the
children of the BVI to swim.
In addition to a cash contribution,
Nanny Cay will be providing the use of the Nanny Cay pool and provide
five scholarships for the 2005 program for pupils from the Ebenezer
Thomas Primary School in Sea Cows Bay. Scholarships will be awarded
based on a "Why I should Learn to Swim" writing competition due to be
run before the Summer swimming session.
