2016: A Look Back
The year ended on a high note, as we opened the new outer marina after 17 months of construction. At a ceremony held at the entrance to the new outer marina on December 12, Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE, declared the marina officially open.

The 47th annual Peg Legs Round Tortola Race organised by the Royal BVI Yacht Club (RBVIYC) and sponsored by Nanny Cay, will take place on Saturday, November 19th. Four classes – racing, performance cruising cruising and multihull – will compete in the 37-mile race. The course change for the 2016 race will give competitors more tactical choices to make.

Boomorang, skippered by Doug Stewart, claimed overall victory in the 2015 Peg Legs Round Tortola Race on Saturday after a long and tricky day on the water.
The 46th edition of the Peg Legs Round Tortola Race started and finished off Nanny Cay. Eleven yachts entered the 37-mile race circumnavigating Tortola in an anti-clockwise direction.

On Saturday, 10 intrepid yachts set off into the teeth of 25-knot winds and rain in the 45th Peg Legs Round Tortola Race. Just under four hours later, vintage trimaran Triple Jack was first across the finish line off Nanny Cay, followed by Spike, a J/111, 47 minutes and 13 seconds later. Pipe Dream crossed the line just under 22 minutes after Spike.
