Nanny Cay Doubles Backup Power Capacity
With the use of a truck crane, backhoe, a generator wrangler, and some engineers (see the pictures below), we have just doubled our backup power with the installation of a second 750 KVA generator.
With current loads, this addition gives us one redundant generator enabling us to use them on an alternating basis.

The Marina Office has moved. The Hotel and Marina reception, plus Captain’s Lounge and Lending Library, are now located in what was previously just the hotel reception. To ease congestion on the main fuel dock, and speed the entire refueling process, we are adding two mobile fueling carts to K dock.

Previously located in Manuel Reef, Nanny Cay’s provision of dock, shoreside, and training facilities enabled Sailon BVI to retain its status as a “RYA Recognised Centre” and continue to provide world-class RYA training in a leading Caribbean marina.

There was a gap and we filled it. Nanny Cay is now an AIS receiving station and our receiver has a range of approximately 12.1 nautical miles.
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is intended to help ships avoid collisions, as well as assisting port authorities to better control sea traffic. AIS transponders on board vessels include a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver, which collects position and movement details.
